A door that won't close, reverses on its own, or blinks an error code usually points straight back to the safety sensors. Our team realigns, cleans, or swaps them out so your garage operates the way it should.
Those two small photo-eye units mounted low on either side of your track are there for one reason: to keep the door from closing on anything — or anyone — in its path. It doesn't take much to throw them off, a light bump, a layer of dust, or a wire worked loose can all be enough to trigger a refusal to close, a sudden reversal, or a flashing opener light. Our garage door sensor repair and replacement service in Amston, CT sorts out the alignment, wiring, and hardware so your door gets back to closing the way it's supposed to.
Inspecting alignment on each sensor along the track
Wiping down lenses that could be interrupting the beam
Checking every wire connection for wear or looseness
Swapping in a new sensor if the unit has failed
Running a full cycle to confirm safe, complete closing
Every sensor repair or replacement starts with a straight diagnosis and a real conversation about cost before we get started. No inflated quotes, no surprises on the bill.
Call 1 (833) 652-7571Nine times out of ten, it's a sensor problem rather than something actually blocking the path. A stray bump, some dust on the lens, or a loose connection is all it takes to knock things out of sync, and even a slight tilt is enough to keep the door from closing.
We strongly advise against it. Those sensors are your last line of defense against closing the door on a person, pet, or object — bypassing them takes that protection away completely.
Keep items from bumping into the sensor brackets down near the floor, wipe the lenses clean of dust and cobwebs now and then, and have the alignment looked at whenever you schedule regular maintenance.
